My Background

From a young age, I have been intrigued by the complexities of the human condition and the factors that shape us across the lifespan. Following a brief career in economics, it was this passion that led me to re-train in the field of psychology. I now have more than a decade of experience working in the mental health field, including 6 years of clinical practice as a psychologist.

My philosophy is rooted in creating a safe and supportive environment, where clients can explore their concerns, develop coping strategies, and work towards positive change. As part of my clinical training at The University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney; ranked 1st in Australia and 19th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2025), I acquired a detailed knowledge of the cognitive and behavioural frameworks through which clinical disorders can be understood. By integrating these frameworks with the unique experiences of each individual, the formulations that I develop in collaboration with clients serve to guide the effective use of evidence-based interventions.

To ensure that my clients receive the highest quality of care, I am committed to staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in clinical psychology. While undertaking my training in clinical psychology, I also completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in cognitive neuroscience. For this, I was awarded best thesis in my cohort. I have published a range of articles in top peer-reviewed journals within the fields of neuroscience, psychology and psychiatry. I also regularly act as an invited reviewer for peer-reviewed journals across these fields, serving to critique and refine publications reporting empirical research findings.

I have enjoyed sharing my passion and expertise through the delivery of training as well, including undergraduate teaching, training workshops and as an invited speaker at professional events. Further detail regarding my research and other professional experience is available on my website.
